Shoot Report – Peter Saich
Another great turnout with over 60 entries on Father’s day. Weather was really hot with sunny conditions all morning but thanks to Andy’s careful planning and stand layout there were no targets in line with the sun. This of course meant that we had a few new shooting positions and novel target presentation to make you concentrate – Well done Andy, another great new layout.
There seems to be a theme emerging – if you see a green target it is likely to be tricky! If you didn’t get on to the ‘deceptively fast’ fast crossing target on stand 7 quickly, it dropped away slightly which was not obvious with the slope of the field – good target and well done if you hit them all! Unfortunately the other trap on that stand was overcome by the heat. Andy and the Team took parts from another trap, then replaced it completely but the replacement also failed so we carried on with just the ‘green meanie’ but at least it meant that we could carry on and all shoot the same number of targets. Well done Team.
Top AA score was 54 from Glen Boxall. Chris Wells hit 52 to win A Class, one ahead of Peter Saich and Geoff Potter.
Another excellent score in B Class with Dom Walker hitting 51. Dom has had great success this season, winning the January Pairs, then winning C Class in February and now B. Can he make a clean sweep by the end of the year and win A class too? Well done Dom.
Second in B on 49 was Simon Spencelayh who is also having a good season so far, and Rob Beere was third with 47.
Ian Parish was the clear winner in C Class with 46, but in second place on 38 was Junior Otis Oakford. Well done all.
Many thanks to those who stayed to help clear up and put things away, including the Beere Family who stayed to re-arrange the trailer and storage facilities to enable easier loading in future.
Our Skeet evenings will continue at NCSC Bisley every Wednesday between 5 pm and 7 pm. Just turn up and join in. Guidance and ‘helpful hints’ will be provided if required.
