Shoot Report – Peter Saich
We had another great new layout today thanks to the efforts of Andy, James and Stuart. Matt was not available to help set up or shoot but did come and help clear up. Many thanks to all of you for many hours of work this weekend and overcoming multiple trap problems while setting up.
Stand two had a sneaky downhill rabbit and Teal combination and nobody hit all 8. There was another ‘tricky’ green target on stand 4 and a stratospheric Crow on stand 6.
We had just over 50 entries today and despite the testing targets there were some great scores in the classes.
Top score was 53 from Alan Johnson in AA Class. Des Park won A Class with 52. Matt Neville, Chris Clark and Peter Saich were in joint second with 49.
B Class was won by Nigel Hebburn on 48. Nigel was tied with Gavin Smith but won on countback with three straights. Chris Flanders was just behind on 47.
In C Class, there was a remarkable score of 50 from Paul White. Commiserations to Stuart Hulme who had his best score of 47 to come second in C Class, while Jon Watson also had a season best with 45 to take third place.
We unfortunately had some complaints about vehicles speeding and frightening the horses being walked along the track. Please can everyone drive slowly everywhere on the Estate as complaints to our landlord could have dire consequences for the shoot.
We are trying to get our trophy presentations back on track and need to find some that are missing. We have historically given trophies for A B and C Classes at every shoot but some of them have not been seen for several years. Please could you all check on your shelves, in cupboards, garages etc. to see if you have any of the original trophies. All of our original trophies have a label with Guildford and District Gun Club and the Class and Month as per the sample below. If you have one, please could you send a photo to petersaich@hotmail.com or bring it to the next shoot so we can identify it and tick it off the list.
Our Skeet evenings will continue at NCSC Bisley every Wednesday between 5 pm and 7pm. Congratulations to Matt Neville who shot his first 25 straight this month.
