Shoot Report – Peter Saich
There were a few drops of rain on my windscreen on the way to Clandon but we still had another dry day for shooting and packing away. Andy and the Team did their usual great job with yet more new targets – Thank goodness for green clays against the dark backgrounds on stands 3 and 4.
There were over 50 entries again today including 45 members, with some good scores in all classes.
Alan Johnson scored 52 in AA Class.
Peter Saich also scored 52 to win A Class, one ahead of Nigel Foreman in second place. Matt Neville, Andy Willett and Aaron Wiggins all hit 47.
Also shooting 47 on his first visit of the year was Adrian Joy who wins B Class. Michael Collins was second with 46 and Gavin Smith scored 44.
Ron Turner won C Class with 39 and John Hughes was second on 37, abandoning using his semi-auto on the first stand and reverting to an Over and Under – I should stick with that in future John! Joint third on 36 were one of our longest serving members, Charles Duncan and one of our newest members, Peter Robinson. Well done Charles and welcome Peter.
If anyone missed any rabbits, the Club have a few to sell at £1 each to help boost your scorecard – Please see photo below!
Shameless ‘Cut and Paste’ from last month – Still no trophies returned.
We are trying to get our trophy presentations back on track and need to find some that are missing. We have historically given trophies for A B and C Classes at every shoot but some of them have not been seen for several years. Please could you all check on your shelves, in cupboards, garages etc. to see if you have any of the original trophies. All of our original trophies have a label with Guildford and District Gun Club and the Class and Month as per the sample below. If you have one, please could you send a photo to petersaich@hotmail.com or bring it to the next shoot so we can identify it and tick it off the list.
Thanks again to all involved in ordering and distributing the bulk cartridge order – Excuse 32 below.
